After studying at the Royal College of Music with Frederick Thurston and Bernard Walton, Anthony joined the Yorkshire SO, and subsequently spent 37 years with the BBC SO as principal bass clarinet and basset horn. During that time and since, he has played with all the major symphony orchestras, ROH and ENO, and chamber ensembles: Melos, Park Lane Group, Athena, and BBC contemporary music groups.
Anthony now also plays on vintage bass clarinets with New Queen's Hall Orchestra, O.R.R, OAE, London Classical Players etc. Since 1990, he has been a Professor of bass and Eb clarinet at Trinity College of Music. |
