Directed by Elgiva Field
The Trinity College of Music BA (Hons) Musical Theatre students present two original one-act shows, LOST and FOUND. Arising out of our innovative project-led approach to training, LOST and FOUND enables the students to apply skills learned in workshops with specialist practitioners, including applied historical performance practices, re-inventing 'old' material for modern audiences, performing works with no prior templates, and working with new generation composers/lyricists in the creation of new material.
LOST involves the re-discovery, re-working and possibly even re-birth of existing songs and scenes from old musical theatre and music hall which have lain unperformed for many years. Students have been able to search through the archives in the unique Mander and Mitchinson Collection (based at Trinity College of Music) and have found material due for resuscitation, resulting in a wonderfully nostalgic trip through the musicals and music hall of the Victorian and Edwardian West End.
FOUND involves the performance of brand new contemporary musical theatre songs and scenes, previously unperformed (or very rarely so), including material written especially for our students, working with the new generation of musical theatre composers, lyricists and librettists. FOUND also serves to introduce our advanced musical theatre students to the musical theatre industry through a special 'Professionals Only' performance (Thursday matinee by invitation only).

Music and Lyrics by Howard Goodall.Written by Howard Goodall in collaboration with Richard Curtis and John Retallack.Performed by arrangement with Faber Music Ltd, London.
Howard Goodall’s emotionally compelling musical celebrates the members of Britain’s Women’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) during the early, dark days of World War II.
Girlfriends asks why we go to war for both the good and bad and honours those who have risked their lives to preserve freedom for all. The bravery, camaraderie, solidarity and humour of this team of women from every class, region and religion produce a story which is both touching and compelling.
