Tess attended the Royal College of Music where she studied under Tereance McDonagh and Kathleen Long, and then won the DAAD Scholarship to study in Germany under Professor Helmut Winschermann. She was a member of the Philomusica of London under George Malcolm and played Principal oboe with the Academy of St. Martins in the Fields, Steinitz Bach Players, the Orchestra of St. Johns Smith Square. She was also a member of the Oromonte Ensemble and "Quintus". Notable performances include playing the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the English Chamber Orchestra at the BBC proms, many BBC solo recitals and playing concertos with the above mentioned chamber orchestras both in England and abroad. Tess teaches oboe at the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music and qualified to teach Alexander Technique in 1996. |
