Historical Studies are approached creatively and explore topics such as Music and Dance, Music Now and The Evolution of Music. In Year 2, students are offered choices from a range of periods and genres.This module develops students’ aural perception and general musical literacy. Jazz students are offered specialist classes in Historical Studies.
Historical Studies develops core listening, functional analysis and writing skills to aid knowledge and understanding of specific musical styles and/or genres as well as providing detailed knowledge of a range of core historical, aesthetic and cultural issues relating to defined areas of music. |
