Trinity College of Music student, Benjamin Shepherd, is going forward to the next Olympics 2012
Congratulations to talented second year TCM MMus student Benjamin Shepherd who won the British Athletic Championship in tumbling on Saturday and will go forward to the Olympics. This is a tremendous achievement – few can boast such combined talents.
Ben says: "After winning the Regional Championships in March, I trained very hard and maintained my focus. I was prepared, mentally and physically, for the British Championships in May and won the gold medal with a total score of 76.65 out of 90.00 for my three runs. My coaches, Kathryn Peberdy (1997 World All-around Tumbling Champion) and her husband Robert, were delighted with my success and I am now training for International competitions. The London 2012 Olympics would be a dream!"
Benjamin is from Weston-super-Mare in Somerset and trains at the Richmond Gymnastics Association.
