Roger studied at the University of York and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Anthony Halstead. Interested in contemporary music and period instrument performance he plays with many of the leading groups in both fields and is principal horn of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Orchestra Revolutionaire et Romantique and the New Queen’s Hall Orchestra.
As a founder member and conductor of Jane Manning’s contemporary music ensemble Jane’s Minstrels he has given many premieres and performed at leading festivals in the UK and in the USA, Scandinavia and Europe and recorded for compact disk and the BBC. Roger is a council member of the Society for the Promotion of New Music. |
