Dominic Murcott is a composer and percussionist who has been at the forefront of digital education in music since the mid 1990’s. His compositional career began with commissions for contemporary dance, working closely with the highly successful V-Tol Dance Company throughout their 10 year existence before specialising in work that combines live performance with computer technology and film. He is a member of the experimental pop group The High Llamas and appears on recordings by many other influential groups including Stereolab, St.Etienne and Pavement. His PhD is from Goldsmiths and explores computer-driven score generation amongst other ideas and he is currently engaged in research into the unheard percussion music of Conlon Nancarrow, for which he is curating a major conference and festival at the South Bank in 2012.
Dominic has been Head of Composition at Trinity College of Music since 2003
